TAMPA, Fla. – A disturbed area of weather in the Central Atlantic shows signs of organizing early Tuesday, though atmospheric conditions are expected to limit long-term development.

What we know:

A weather system in the Central Atlantic is sitting in an isolated pocket of light wind shear, allowing it to appear slightly more organized Tuesday morning. 

The window for growth remains narrow because surrounding atmospheric conditions will not stay favorable for long, according to forecast models. 

Even if the system manages to organize further, computer guidance indicates it will eventually turn northward over open waters without showing strong model support.

What we don’t know:

Forecasters have not confirmed whether this disturbance will gain enough strength to form a closed circulation before stronger winds tear it apart. 

Meteorologists are also monitoring the rest of the basin, though no other tropical development is anticipated over the next several days.
