PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Pinellas County woman pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief for firing a gun through her boyfriend’s bedroom wall. According to a police report, the January 2026 incident happened during an argument over a backpack.

According to the police report, Antonieta Plasencia-Hernandez, 47, grabbed her boyfriend’s loaded gun and shot it through the wall of his bedroom. The report said he had retreated to the room and locked the door “to remove himself” because he feared the situation would “escalate into a physical confrontation”.
In May 2026, the state reduced the charge from attempted murder to criminal mischief.

Plasencia pleaded guilty and the court sentenced her to 120 days in jail, giving her 107 days for time already served. She was also ordered to pay $570 in fines and fees.
