TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a man and a woman dead inside a home early Friday morning.

Shooting in North Tampa
What we know:
Officers responded to reported gunfire in the 3500 block of N. 15th St., where they found a woman in her mid-20s and a man in his mid-50s suffering from gunshot wounds.
The woman died at the scene, and the man died a short time later.
Three minor children were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but none of them were injured.

According to Tampa police, the man and the woman knew each other. Authorities stated there is no ongoing threat to the public, and officers safely placed the three children with family members.
What we don’t know:
Police have not yet released the names of the man or the woman who died. Officials have also not confirmed who fired the gun or what led up to the shooting.
