What we know:
Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched to a local convenience store around midnight after authorities were called to break up a crowd gathered in the parking lot. Deputy Terrian Bailey was among those who responded.

Officials say shortly after arrival, an unknown person opened fire at the crowd. Two people were shot in the process. A female bystander and Deputy Bailey were shot. The woman was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. However, deputy Bailey was transported and later pronounced deceased.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into the shooting. The FBI has posted a $25,000 reward for anyone who could provide information that leads to an arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible.

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department released a statement, “In the midst of this tragedy and chaos, we want to honor Deputy Bailey’s unwavering dedication and commitment to Claiborne County, the very community he proudly served,” the statement read.
What we don’t know:
They are asking anyone who may have any information about the shooting, no matter how small or insignificant, to come forward.
